Cracking the UGC-NET English Literature exam is a dream for many literature students.

It’s familiar, and every student preparing for the UGC-NET exam must find their way out of the digital jungle. If the student persists long enough, the journey is not far.
Keeping the result, the beauty of becoming an assistant professor, having the leisure to teach and kindle the joy of learning in students serve as a North Star.
1. Vision
Rightly said, it’s challenging to turn the hobby into a full-time profession. When I started my journey as a writer in 2014, I envisioned myself sitting in my luxury, reading and writing for a whole day.
Even though, as an engineering student, I have a lot of time at my disposal, there were insecurities about whether or not I could make my career in literature if I gave up engineering studies.
Things didn’t make sense when I quit engineering in 2017 and took a bold leap into the unknown field of English Literature. My parents were disappointed and worried about where I was heading towards.
It was not about changing the subject but about rewriting everything from scratch and challenging society. I could be an example of success or a victim of failure.
While things were confusing as I started, the vision to change my hobby into a profession kept me going. Without a vital purpose, the UGC-NET journey becomes even more challenging.

2. Started Working As An Assistant Professor
After cracking UGC-NET in English Literature, I worked as an assistant professor. As mentioned, I love reading books, and when I applied the knowledge of books in the real-time class experience, I saw an exponential personality growth.
I learned as a teacher, I was not transferring the information to students but became an inspiration for many. It became a responsibility to lead a life with an example.
Above all, it was a great joy when you played a vital role in the intellectual growth of young students.
Moreover, as a college lecturer, there are three or four classes in the 8-hour working hours.
On certain days, there were hardly one or two classes to teach. The surplus time was well spent exploring various subjects at the University library.
3. A Thankless Profession But No Need For Validation
I cannot deny that it’s a thankless profession, and a few students remember their teachers as they reach the heights of success. You can also call teachers “unsung heroes”.
However, a teacher gives less importance to such external validation.
If any of my students crack the English Literature UGC-NET Exam, I do not make them sit in a YouTube interview and sing songs of my praise or our organization Limitless Literature.
My work is to sow inspiration when a student comes in contact before moving to another student.
Teaching is the noblest among all the professions. While it has much to do with subjective pursuit, its influence can be seen in practical occupations like engineering or medicine.
Never forget that teachers ignite the curiosity in students for a subject, laying the foundation and shaping their minds as they progress.
4. We Go To Heaven
I heard somewhere that if you are in a profession of teaching, you are doing so good to humanity that your place in heaven is already reserved. You need not worry about earthly rewards. – hahaha.
I doubt if there is a life after death, but it’s a sort of profession that is heaven on earth. The jokes, the laughter, the respect, and the shared victories are the rewards that create a paradise for teachers on our little blue planet.
You know you never get old as a teacher in the company of students unless you are fed up with the profession.
5. Gives You A Distinct Voice
After working for years as an educator and content creator, I have learned that without being creative, we will fail in our profession.
Creativity is the heartbeat for teachers and writers. It’s where the deep engagement of readers and students comes from.
Although it’s always challenging to stay creative, the good thing is it distinguishes you in your field immediately.
You become a brand in yourself with a distinct voice that the audience wants to listen to.
For me, creativity is knowledge. A constant improvement in my ability helps me stay creative. You don’t have to force yourself to think on paper.
Thinking is for lazy people.
Intelligent people keep themselves updated with new information and experience. And when needed, they develop great ideas from vast reservoirs of their knowledge and expertise.
